To the next generation

"Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you come into the land you are to inhabit, which I am giving you…." Wait a minute, did not God say earlier that no one who saw the miracles in Egypt would enter Canaan? Who were the people Moses was addressing? Obviously, the LORD was instructing all those 20 and below — the next generation that was to enter the promised land.
What new instruction did He give to the new generation of Israelites? No new instruction. It was the old presented in a new way. Instead of telling them what they should do, He taught them how to do it so that it would be an aroma pleasing to the LORD.
The young generation should be very appreciative as they were led through the path of success, which their fathers failed. They witnessed God's grace for not killing their parents immediately for their sins. Yet, at the same time, they saw the pain of their parents as they all suffered 39 years and could not enter the promised land.
God's first exclusive message for them was to learn to sacrifice with appreciation. Perhaps, this is also a message that the young generation of our time should learn – be appreciative.
The mistakes that the predecessor made have become precious lessons to you. Be appreciative of what you have gained, and do not take things for granted.
May God bless and lead you.
